klipschutz

klipschutz 's work appears in The Outlaw Bible of American Poetry and periodicals ranging from zines to Poetry (of Chicago), as well as three full-length collections: Twilight of the Male Ego; The Good Neighbor Policy; and The Erection Of Scaffolding for the RePainting of Heaven by the Lowest Bidder. Of his latest book, Barry Hannah says, “I have not seen such language and hyperconscious life since the work of the great Charles Simic.” A part time scrivener in a law office, klipschutz has been called a satirist, and worse.

You'll Leave Them Fighting In The Aisles - For Charles Bukowski (October 20, 2009. Issue 10.)

Yes Prince you beat the house
Fair‑haired surgeons cut you open,
finding racing forms and wallets
Yes Prince you sat and sorted
Ladies came once it was safe

Long nights followed long days
likely they still do, though
you’re holed up for the home stretch,
unlisted, legend intact,
finally outside L.A. city limits—

caterwauler of defeat
chronicler of cages
is there another rabbit
in your hat?

Under Santa Cruz redwoods
you stare down the camera
and don’t miss a beat
when the cowardly feminist
throws a full can of
beer at your head

All grace and no pressure
puts the word out to pasture—

the small rooms the long haul
your liver must look like
hell. . .
Jeffers in his tower, yours in you
